Thank you Tucson! It was all about the kids at the 2011 “The PARTY” to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson.
In only its second year, “The PARTY” has become one of the most highly anticipated events of the year. With so much to offer, it’s no surprise that over 3,000 people came out to support the clubs on October 21st at the Tucson Convention Center. Thanks to contributions made at “The PARTY” by our generous donors, over $500,000 will be provided to support ongoing operations our 6 Tucson Clubs which serve 7,000 kids annually.
The evening began with our youth club members greeting our guests with noisemakers and high fives. Upon entering the exhibit hall, guests were treated to live music by the incredible band, 80’s and Gentlemen who played 80‘s hits from 5-9 PM. Sam Fox and Fox Restaurant Concepts created an amazing menu of appetizers, entrees and desserts from Wildflower, North, Zinburger, Sauce and Blanco Tacos and Tequila. Partyni’s and libations were served from ice slides, a silent auction featuring over 600 incredible items were displayed and bid on, and a Super Ticket prize drawing with great trips, a car, art work and many other items offered our guests a chance to win. Jim Click served as our live auctioneer, helping to raise over $200,000 from the sale of 14 dream vacations, artwork and experiences. At 9 PM the “PARTY” moved into the arena for a concert by world class alternative rock band, Third Eye Blind, who absolutely wowed the crowd! Tickets were $100 and by all accounts, our sponsors and guests will all be back next year!
We wish to thank our presenting sponsor, and wonderful friend to our kids, Mr. Jim Click. We are also grateful to Fox Restaurant Concepts for providing the food, Desert Diamond for presenting the evening’s entertainment, and Chris Click and Clickjab for securing Third Eye Blind. To the dozens of sponsors and partners (all listed on this website) we are forever grateful. To all of our guests… we hope you had the time of your life and look forward to seeing you next year at “The PARTY”!
As we step away from our responsibilities as Co-Chairs, we hand the torch to two incredible and passionate board members, Jana Westerbeke and Laura Feemster. We can’t wait for the 2012 PARTY, and to toast to the success that we know next year will bring!
Gratefully Yours,
Mark Irvin, Bob Gugino,
The Party 2011 Co-Chairs
